I was fortunate enough to be selected to represent Netzer Australia at our World Veida! Thus is an annual conference in Jerusalem (incidentally the best city in the world) where we vote on changes to Netzer's platform, as well as deciding on other initiatives to pursue as a global movement. One exciting thing we voted on was the specific endorsement of Jewish patrilineal descent in our global platform! This was particularly in support of Netzer Germany, as they themselves recently endorsed the same despite it being a contentious issue in their wider community.

We also had a number of educational sessions, which were so interesting! In one of them, we were presented with scenarios relating to the Jewishness of Israel, such as whether immigration into Israel should be made easier for non-Jews, or whether the anthem should be made more representative of minorities in the country. We had to pick a definite yes/no position, not somewhere in the middle, and we had lots of passionate and productive arguments!

Possibly my favourite part of the conference was when all us delegates had an impromptu shirim/prayer session. Everyone was really nice and good to hang out with, and each person contributed to making my Veida experience so special!
